Buck Creek Mitigation Bank

Location: Henry County

USACE District: Louisville

Credits Offered: Wetland (emergent)

The Buck Creek Mitigation Bank is a 44-acre project immediately adjacent to Clift Ditch and Buck Creek, consisting entirely of emergent wetland habitat.

The mitigation activities include the restoration of historic wetland communities through re-establishment of wetlands to prior converted croplands, rehabilitation of low-quality farmed wetlands, and establishment of native praire buffer.

This project provides significant ecological benefits to the watershed by supporting threatened and endangered wildlife and plants. It has met all performance criteria and is currently selling its final credits.

The Buck Creek Mitigation Bank serves much of central Indiana, including Indianapolis.

Bull-Buck Mitigation Bank

Location: Sangamon County

USACE District: Henry County

Credits Offered: Wetland (forested); Wetland (emergent); Stream

The Bull-Buck Mitigation Bank is a 58-acre project located in central Indiana along Clift Ditch, a tributary to Buck Creek in the Upper White River Watershed.

The objective of the bank is to restore agricultural fields to historic wetland communities, establish native plant buffers at the perimeter of the wetland, and reconstruct approximately 1,250 linear feet of historic stream channel.

The project provides significant ecological benefits to the watershed by reducing forest fragmentation, introducing multiple wetland habitat types for diversity and wildlife benefits, and re-connecting natural habitat to other adjacent restored wetland sites and nearby Summit Lake State Park.

The Bull-Buck Mitigation Bank serves much of central Indiana, including Indianapolis.

We design, engineer, and construct the restoration of farmland, pastures, streams, and forests, returning them back to natural, self-sustaining habitat systems.
